Spring Car Prep

As of March 20th, it’s officially spring! Congratulations, you survived another winter in Chicago. Maybe it’s time to invest in a new car, like a Ford Explorer in Elgin, or maybe you are invested in taking care of your current car. Whatever the case may be, we have some tips to help make sure your car is spring-ready.

It’s Pothole Season

The snow and ice have been generously covering up all of the potholes the city has to offer. Now that the snow is subsiding, make sure to check your tire pressure. They should have enough tread and air to handle any surface the Chicago roads have to offer. If you’re in the market for a new car, consider buying a Ford Explorer in Elgin; it’s a great car that can handle any weather conditions.

Brakes Are a Must

This goes without saying. But winter can take a toll on the quality of your brakes, so it’s important to get them checked be a professional now that spring is in full effect.

Need an Oil Change?

As a general rule of thumb, it’s best to get an oil change every 5,000 miles. If you’ve been driving your car for a while without getting one, it might be time to get it checked. Spring is also a great time to check things such as your headlights, windshield wipers and belts.
