The Ford Explorer

Known as the larger 3-row crossover SUV, the Ford Explorer has user-friendly technology, remote start and remote lock and unlock, and active parking assist, making your driving experience both comfortable and safe. Let’s look into some of the Explorer’s highlights.

Cool Features

The Explorer sports a large front bumper, which means parking could be challenging. However, with the enhanced active park assist, the system will use ultrasonic sensors to help you get into and out of parallel spaces. In short, the driver will operate the accelerator and brake pedal while the Explorer does the rest of the work. Are your hands occupied with groceries or sports equipment? You can wave your foot under the Explorer’s rear bumper to automatically open the liftgate (and do the same thing to close it).

Interior Design

The Explorer SUV can fit up to seven passengers comfortably, but if you need more cargo space, the seating rows can be folded flat. Based on how many rows you decide to fold, you can have cargo space that runs from 21, to 43.9, to 80.7 cubic feet. The interior design is functional and luxurious with its neat trim level.

The rear view camera gives the driver a clear view of what’s behind the vehicle, complete with a built-in washer to keep the camera lens free of debris (snow, dust, dirt, etc.). BLIS®, which stands for blind spot information system, is matched with cross-traffic alert to help detect and alert you when there are vehicles in your blind spots. Additionally, the cross-traffic helps look out for and detect traffic behind you when you’re backing out of a parking spot or your driveway.

The automatic emergency braking feature with pre-collision assist looks out into the road ahead, alerting you if there are potential collisions with either vehicles or pedestrians. If you aren’t fast enough, the brakes are automatically applied, but will only activate when needed.

Better Commutes

You can now use Waze, a loved and crowd-sourced navigation and traffic app, inside your Ford. Now, the app is compatible with the SYNC® 3 AppLink®. Collaborate with other users to outsmart traffic as you share information to find the best routes and receive real-time alerts about accidents, road hazards, and more. Waze can be displayed on the Explorer’s touchscreen so you can use voice commands and hands-free control all while keeping your eyes on the road.
